Chalet Ariasana
This 1950s ”Chalet Ariasana” has been renovated and makes a beautiful impression with its architecture and central location on a slope with unique views of Vals.
The deep black Nakatado wooden facade, finished with the Japanese technique Shou Sugi Ban, and the warm colour French Grey in the interior create an exciting contrast.
The Nakatado facade is mounted both horizontally and vertically, and the planks have various sizes.
This creates a lovely variation of appearance.
“During the renovation of the holiday home in Vals, Switzerland, it soon became clear that the architect and client wanted to use the Shou Sugi Ban method for the house’s new wooden façade.
After a lot of research and a visit to producers in the Netherlands, we found the right partner for the facade material: Zwarthout | Shou Sugi Ban. Now the house is once again a popular holiday destination with a new look.” – GRAND ARCHITEKTEN
