Close to the sea in Kattegatt, Sweden, is Villa Andersson. This is a private villa that won two awards by architect Abelardo Gonzalez in 2021.
The aim of the design was to make use of the specific conditions of the location to achieve complete harmony between nature and the building. This unity is created by connecting the location, the form and the materials.
The villa consists of two architectural bodies, a rectangular concrete core and a protective shield folding over itself. The shield consists of a metal construction and is clad with the characteristic black burnt Marugame planks.
The result is a unique villa where the choice of materials connects with the landscape while aging gracefully.
